If you’ve been following developments on the hotly-anticipated OnePlus 6, this latest bit is sure to make your summer sizzle that much more. It looks like we already know what the new phone will look like thanks to (aheam) a well-timed leak.
The phone was supposedly posted by mistake in Amazon Germany. With big, crystal clear images, it’s easy to see that the phone’s front is taken up almost entirely by the 6.3-inch screen while the back is covered in smooth glass – at least on the Mirror Black variant. The Midnight Black variant seemingly has a matte finish, though it’s hard to tell if the material is aluminum.
OnePlus will officially unveil its new flagship smartphone on May 16th. The Shenzehn-based manufacturer has stated in past announcements that the phone will run on a Snapdragon 845 processor with RAM and internal storage capacities of 8GB and 256GB, respectively.
The 16 and 20-megapixel back cameras are stacked on top of each other, while the alert slider has been re-positioned to the right. Oh, and there’s a headphone jack in case you’re wondering.
OnePlus has developed a significant international following, including in the Philippines where consumers recognize the value for money that it brings. Its main line smartphones are usually more cost-effective than those of other brands, but deliver hardware specs comparable to those from premium brands.
OnePlus looks to silence criticisms that it’s able to price lower by skirting premium features such as water resistance and cool software touches. With the OnePlus 6’s glass body, the manufacturer has been caught tweeting “the rain never bothered us anyway,” hinting at the new handset’s ability to withstand light water exposure. The OnePlus 6 is expected to run the Android P operating system natively.
